Privacy Policy — squidfile

squidfile (“squidfile”, “we”, “us”) is a product of Squid Innovation. This policy explains what happens to your files and your data when you use file.squidinnovation.com (the “Service”).

Your files

Some tools (Merge, Split, Rotate, Watermark, JPG to PDF) run entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your files are never uploaded or sent to our servers for these tools.

Other tools (Compress, Protect/Unlock, PDF to JPG, PDF to Word, PDF to PowerPoint, Word to PDF, Remove Background, PNG/JPG conversion, PNG to SVG, Resize/Compress Image) need to process your file on our server. In these cases:

Your file is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
It is processed in a temporary, isolated location on our server.
It is deleted immediately after processing, whether the job succeeds or fails.
We do not store, view, share, or use your files for any other purpose.

Cookies and advertising

We show ads served by Google AdSense to keep squidfile free to use. Google and its advertising partners may set cookies on your device to serve and measure ads, including based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message — provided by Google’s certified Consent Management Platform — before any such cookies are set, where you can choose whether to allow personalized ads, non-personalized ads only, or manage your preferences in detail. You can change your choice at any time from that message or via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Other data we collect

Our hosting provider and server logs may record standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and abuse prevention. We do not sell your personal data.

Children’s privacy

squidfile is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page.
